Haslet Montessori & Preschool is a childcare facility that emphasizes individualized care for children. Outdoor play is a regular part of the school routine. We find it very essential that our students are provided with hands-on, outdoor experiences to enhance awareness, understanding and a sense of responsibility toward each other and our environment. Our outdoor area is filled with trees, flowers and classroom planter boxes. Outdoor activities also naturally help young children develop essential motor skills like coordination, agility, balance, and dexterity. Our students are encouraged to explore outdoor environments that put their abilities to the test and constantly develop new skills through trial and error. We encourage active outdoor fun with the use of tricycles, climbing structures, balls, and imaginative games.
Music and Movement
Music and Movement
At Haslet Montessori & Preschool, we feel that music and movement are essential parts of the early childhood curriculum. Studies show that music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing young children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Our students get to have a good time as they learn songs, instrumental play, and movement throughout the day.

Not only is art fun for children, but art also helps them develop on many fundamental levels such as creativity, motor skills, focus, collaboration, and many more. Art increases the capacity of memory, attention and concentration. Completing art projects and learning to express themselves in new ways helps children gain confidence and perseverance. At Haslet Montessori & Preschool, we believe that art should emphasize the process, and not the end product. We strive to maintain the joy our students find in creating something of his or her own. In our school community, students are given the freedom to explore their imagination through a variety of art media. Art introduces students to varied avenues of self-expression and allows them to use the more creative side of their brain. Ms. Vickie Cruz
Hello, My name is Vickie Cruz. I am a native Texan and have lived in Fort Worth most of my life. For the last 20 years I have had a passion for education, serving as a Toddler teacher and then as a 3’s teacher. After teaching for a few years, I was asked to help in the office, which gave me a deeper understanding of the Childcare Industry. Merging these two experiences, I have become what I am today. And as the saying goes “the rest is history”.

Toddler Curriculum
The Haslet Montessori & Preschool Primary Program is for students ages 3 years to 5 years old. This unique program is designed to take advantage of the sensitive period when students are able to absorb information from our enriched environment. The overall goal of this program is to support our students as they develop a sense of order, refine their coordination, expand their concentration, grow in independence and practice emerging problem-solving skills.
The students are provided with opportunities to work independently or have individual, small or large group lessons. They begin to learn how to manage their time and gain a sense of personal responsibility for everything that they set their minds to.
Our certified teachers encourage our students towards self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independent thought and action, and critical thinking, while fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth. Each student is able to learn through hands-on exploration and develop an enthusiasm for learning, which is key for future academic success.
Along with developing their own self-awareness and independence, our students are also able to gain a sense of social awareness. Most importantly, we take pride in empowering each student to be an independent thinker, problem solver with grace and character development.
Primary Curriculum
We understand how important it is for working parents to make sure their children are in a safe and comfortable learning environment while they are away from school or home. Here at Haslet Montessori & Preschool, our classrooms provide a safe place for each student’s social, emotional, and academic development while encouraging their individual growth. Our experienced and qualified teachers provide ideal educational materials for each age group. Our before- and after-school program for school-age students focuses on what students need and enjoy most: creative play indoors and outside, homework support, and healthy snacks to keep them energized. In a playful space, filled with fun and friendship, students are able to get a jumpstart on the essential readiness skills to begin and thrive in their academic career.

Parent Involvement
At Haslet Montessori & Preschool, parent involvement is considered crucial.
Parents are the link between the home and the school. Our philosophy is to maintain continuity between the school and home through the participation of parents. We have multiple parent activities to build this continuity, including classroom observations, parent education events, holiday events, and parent-teacher conferences.
Parent involvement is greatly appreciated in our school community. We are grateful for the parental time that is donated to running and improving your child’s school.

Our teachers foster the desire to learn through the following areas:
In this area, children develop coordination and motor skills while experiencing everyday activities. They become confident while learning good work habits.
Since young children take in their world through their senses, this area helps children distinguish, categorize, and relate new information.
Children learn common land formations, such as islands and peninsulas. Large wooden puzzle maps are used for children to learn countries, climates, and products.
